Glenn Schroeder
Charming, confident and a natural born leader. Glenn is a boy from a poor home that eventually gets poorer. Glenn is well known amongst his class as a class clown and one who can talk his way out of almost anything. When Glenn’s family slips even deeper into the pit of poverty, he takes matters into his own hands.
Everett Rossini
Of Italian descent, his family owns a convenience store. Everett is known to be cunning, clever and sly. Generally causes trouble amongst his classmates and for his friends but does not usually get caught. Glenn’s partner in crime.
Dale Ripley
One of the best friends of Glenn Schroeder and Everett Rossini. He is generally quiet and intelligent and usually has his nose in a book. Despite his introverted appearance, he is very loyal and will do anything to stand up for the people who he cares about. Dale comes from an average family; his mother is a caretaker and there are often young children around his household.
Elsie Fillman
Your average American girl of the time period. Elsie FIllman comes from a family of an accountant and a saleswoman. Similar to Dale, she is introverted but loyal. She is very intelligent as well. She is well known for being a straight A student.
Alma Strong
Alma Strong is a simple girl who shares the same characteristics that make up her name. Alma is kind, nourishing and strong and is considered the “mom” friend of the group. Alma lives in a very packed household; her parents have recently started accepting boarders into their home for money. It provides Alma with many interesting companions and something always happening in her life, whether it be good or bad.
Rosemary Johnson
Rosemary Johnson is the distant heir to the wealthy Johnson family who founded the American Johnson & Johnson company. Rosemary is a smart student who always knows what’s going on. She can be described as idealistic but very wary of her local surroundings and the world around her. She and her best friends, Elsie and Alma stick always stick together in the face of even the most difficult problems that the depression can bring. Girlfriend of Glenn Schroeder.
Junior Kegley
Junior Kegley is the son of the head banker at the city’s biggest bank. He thinks very highly of himself and holds little to no concern about the other members of his class who do not meet his economic status. The person he despises most is Glenn Schroeder because of his relationship with Rosemary Johnson.
Maxine Schroeder
Maxine Schroeder is the younger sister of Glenn Schroeder. She is outspoken and intelligent. She is one year below her brother and is well known amongst her peers for speaking her mind. She is a hot headed individual and often acts on impulse. This can land her in funky and sometimes dangerous situations.
Frances Schroeder
Frances Schroeder is the mother of Glenn and Maxine Schroeder. Her husband, Harvey Schroeder has left home in search of work due to the depression and has promised to send back for her and the rest of the family once he finds what he’s looking for. She has been on her own as a mother for over half a year now and falls deeper into the struggle. She tries her hardest remains positive and lighthearted as to keep her household happy and filled with love.
Harvey Schroeder
Harvey Schroeder is the father of Glenn and Maxine and the husband of Frances Schroeder. Months ago, he set out to find work in other states. He keeps his family updated with occasional letters but because he has struggled to find a job, he has fabricated the information about his whereabouts. He is stuck wandering around the United States and it eventually leads to an unwanted situation that unravels all of his lies.
Reggie
Reggie is a former, well, everything. Reggie is originally from Missouri and has ended up in many cities all over the country. Reggie has been an actor, a dancer, a teacher and a stripper and is only 35. Unfortunately for Reggie, they lost everything when they were evicted from their home and was homeless for awhile. Reggie currently has a job in a factory and is a boarder with the Strong family. Reggie is fairly eccentric but always is saying or doing something interesting that sparks surprise in whoever they run into.

Mother of Everett and wife of Paolo Rossini. Co-owner of Rossini’s Convenience Store.

(2/7) The Kidlings!
The Kidlings is a lively drama about teenagers in the Great Depression. The concept of the teenage lifestyle in the United States was not established until the post WWII society. So what was it like for teenagers during one of the most difficult times in the United States? The Kidlings focuses on the lives of a friend group of 6 kids from different economic backgrounds. How do they cope when the Depression takes the difficulties of teenage life one step further? The Kidlings sheds light on the strength of love throughout hard times while focusing on some of the forgotten aspects of one of the most difficult times in America’s History.
Excited?? I sure am! There will be an informational meeting this Friday 2/9 after school in the auditorium. Auditions are next week, on Monday and Tuesday (2/12 and 2/13) after school, and if callbacks are needed, they will be on Wednesday (2/14 <3). See you there!

Today's full house meeting touched on many smaller details. If you have any questions text me (Bella) at 651-219-2151.
-Tailgating: We went over what we will be doing for tailgating, which is selling frost your own cupcakes. If you want to volunteer at the event or helping to make cupcakes, please let me know.
-Wikispaces: I made sure everyone knew about this page and why we made it.
-Remind: I might have forgotten to mention it, but if you aren't on the remind yet please join it. Text "@hpsht" to 81010.
-Schedule: We passed out this weeks schedule. You can look at this in the calendar, and soon Stephen will hand out a more full and detailed rehearsal schedule. If you missed the handing out of this schedule, or if you lost it, I'm not going to scan it (sorry its like five days and that's not worth the trouble) so check the calendar to see what's up this week. When Stephen gives out the full rehearsal schedule that will be both in the calendar AND as a pdf on here.
-Communication: We gathered more emails and phone numbers to help better communication.
-HTFF: People filled out a form with their parents contact info to be used for the Highland Theatre Friends and Family. If you think your parents may be interested, use this link: https://goo.gl/forms/Oex2HvTsQTspPqee2 to give the HTFF their contact information.
-Parent Meeting: There is a parent meeting tonight for ALL PARENTS, with details on the show, because we don't tell our parents everything. Oh well.
